A: Before installing the Sunshield system, we ensure your windows are thoroughly cleaned using deionised water to prevent streaks.
Once the Sunshield system is installed, it acts as a rain screen, significantly reducing the need for regular window cleaning (usually no more than once a year). Some customers have even gone without cleaning the windows behind the system for a couple of years without any issues.
We recommend cleaning the Sunshield system itself a couple of times a year with deionised water, which can be easily done by your window cleaner using long reach poles from the floor level. Cleaning the louvres in both open and closed positions allows enough deionised water to reach the glass and help keep it clean.
For a thorough glass clean, if required, the window cleaner should be at the same level as the blind (e.g., on scaffolding) to push the cleaning head through the open louvres.
In the future, we plan to offer a cleaning and maintenance/inspection service While this service will be chargeable, it will also extend the warranty period.
